Default Cheap(er) engine mounts - any good?

My 2008 D5 needs new vacuum engine mounts front and back, and as the sub-frame is currently off following clutch/flywheel/gearbox replacement I will do them now.
I found cheap sets of all 5 mounts for £153 on ebay like here: https://ebay.us/mlBYKu

Has anyone got any experience of these? They seem *too* cheap - and I really don't want to have to do this job again.
Or are GSF ones any good?
Or pay up for Volvo ones?

The amount of work required means that I would only trust genuine unless there was a way of knowing that the quality was there.

I have never found pattern parts to last anything like as long as oe

I'm guessing but probably 1 in 5 threads on here from new members with recurring problems are down to cheap pattern parts that don't work or have failed early... Sad to say I've made that mistake myself with wheel bearings and brake parts... unless you have lots of time on your hands, genuine Volvo is the way to go...

Thanks all, that was the reply I expected.

Volvo parts cost:
Engine pad rear: 30741397 (31262155) £98.28
Engine pad front: 30680751 £98.28
Torque rod, lower: 30680750 £43.43
And a PAS pipe/hose I need which is heavily corroded: £148.43

All on top of the s/h gearbox cost, clutch, flywheel and 2x genuine lower arms.... £ouch!

They're not cheap cars to run unfortunately, even if you do the work yourself. FYI I recently bought 2x genuine control arms from e-bay for £110 each. The previous owner had non gen items fitted by Halfrauds 30,000 miles ago - the front bushes had completely rotted and detached from the metal surround.

I've also fallen into that trap. The arms I've just taken off the car have only been on for ~18 months (GSF parts), and it's pulling to to left under braking again - which these were originally fitted to solve... which it did for a while!
That's a good price. The arms I bought from Volvo were £115.77 each, + £25 surcharge each on return of the old ones.

I went through the process twice using cheap mounts first:
https://forums.swedespeed.com/showth...t-idle-driving

I ended up going with Hutchinson OE mounts. They're the Volvo parts, just with the Volvo part number and logo scratched off. They're about half the price.
For example: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products?utf...words=30793797

From the Hutchinson web site...

United Kingdom

How much does it cost to ship to my address and how long will it take?
Shipping to United Kingdom is calculated in the cart once you choose United Kingdom as the country. Shipments to the UK typically take around a week to arrive via UPS. If USPS is chosen shipments can take between 2-3 weeks to arrive.

How much will I be charged for import tax on my order?
Unfortunately FCP does not have any way to calculate this and it is best to contact your local customs department to get an idea of the final cost once delivered to you.

Shipping seems a little high, can you help with this?
Of course! Sometimes the shipping computed on the site can be out of line and if you see something abnormal please feel free to contact us for clarification.

Cheers

Dave

You have to love international shipping...
The acorn mounts were made in France and the other mounts came from Poland if I recall correctly (the same locations as the factory mounts).
