Default XC60 MY2010 RTI vs MY2009 RTI

OK - so this is a follow on from a thread in the 'Showroom area' I thought it now has more relevance in this section.
There was some confusion arising about the abiltity to upgrade the MY2009 RTI to the newly launched version running on the MY2010 models.

I have done some searching on the WWW and having brushed up on my German I discovered the following.

The new version of the RTI for the XC60 (and some other models) is version/part number: 31286522
You can buy the updated disks from the euro dealers, (for around 220 euro equivalent to £190) - I'm still to confirm UK availability/prices.
This will update the Maps as well as the 'look-and-feel' of the system interface, including a the new 3D view.

Now all I have to do is find a way of not paying £190 for it. I read that some of the other countries give you 2 free upgrades to the maps/software after the car is purchased - but I have not seen this offered in the UK.

I am slightly confussed about the XC60 RTI System.
My XC60, MY2009 has 4 DVD's to cover the whole of Europe and the update, only has one DVD.
Between December 2008 and now, have Volvo changed the RTI System for the XC60?

Yes I believe they have changed the system in the XC60 - I know mine is now out of date - car purchased Oct 08.
The new update was only released for the MY2010 cars available first - this month.

Like you mine is 4 DVDs - not sure how many the update comes on. Where did you hear its one DVD from?

You can tell the old fromnew by the coloured icons on the menus, see XC60Owners pictures in the showroom section - he has the MY2010.

This update VPN 31285622, costs £179.99 inc Vat.

Still slightly confussed, with it only being one disc. (stated on web site)
I now need to forward the part number from the box that contains the four DVD's to my local dealer, to double check.

Reading the above data sheet, I note that speed cameras are included and I think this is a first for Volvo, RTI System?

That is the link I posted in the "Showroom" section.

My XC60 with the new and updated maps also have 4 DVD's in the box. The UK also contains France, Spain, Andorra and Portugal I think. The other ones contain other countries like France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and so on. The Eastern European disch (Poland, Czech etc) also contain Germany. The Scandinavian Disc also contain Germany and Italy etc etc etc.

Had to look twice when programming my company's addresses in Germany (had to change discs).

Yes, UK cars come with a free 2 year updates. Just have to send in a form that was in the box.

Will need to look in the box to find the free update form.

VCC Part No 31285622 AA is the update for VCC Part No 31285067 AA and definately costs £179.99 inc Vat.
Will find out if the update is more than one DVD, next week.
Not that I tend to exceed the speed limit by much, I think the speed cameras on the data base, would be handy.

Unfortunately, I do not seem to have the free update for two years.
Can only think that it is for MY2010?
