Don't take it to the garage yet.......
If it is non AC follow Luke's guide below to check the Heater Control Valve.
If you have a dribble around the accelerator pedal, check the plastic seal / gummet on the door pillar, (a little more than half way down I think). You can check by drying around it as well as you can and running water from a garden hose, with the door both open and closed.
