Default S40 Fog Lights ECU

Hi

I have fitted some fog lights to my S40 1996 as mine did not come with the winter pack, I have plugged them in and replaced the switch but they do not work and the engine managment light just shows, is there somthing else i need to do to make them work, is there a relay or ECU adjustment which needs to be made...

any help would be great!

Ryan

yes its above the instrument panel , you have to take the instruments out .. You will need to replace the rear fog light only relay with a front AND rear foglight relay ..

As i have a mechanical mile counter does that mean there will be a cable in the way making it difficult to get the instrument panel out?

you might have to disconnect it at the gearbox end to allow the instrument panel to come out enough to undo the cable .. but try to withdraw the panel first you may be lucky ..

Did I not read recently that the CEM has to be activiated for fogs? Do a search the answers you seek are there.
