Default 1.6 diesel Drive E PCV assembly

Does anyone know how this valve should be assembled? Under the cover there is a diagphragm and spring, the diagphragm has a mould ring which sits on a matching ring around the exit hole which goes to the hose that goes to the turbo inlet. Logic would say the spring should be on top holding the diagphragm down sealing the hole until there is enough crankcase pressure to lift it and dump the fumes to the turbo inlet, the upper side is open to the atmosphere so it can move. Mine has the spring under the diagphragm so it holds it up against the top cover so its doing nothing and the fumes can pass continually to the turbo inlet, the problem is its dragging oil from the cam cover which then runs down and drips from the hose where it joins the turbo inlet.
Volvo don’t have any info as they only sell it with the whole cam cover, I have bought a new diagphram which is identical from Amazon, any info much appreciated.
