Default 1998 V70 AWD what is this part

Hi all

On a 1998 V70 AWD, what is this part (the silver box with the angle flap) which sits just to the rear of the sump drain plug?

Sorry, I am unable to raise the car up right now to look around for myself. Hoping someone knows.

Thanks,
Steve

Pretty sure that's the bottom of the angle gear housing which transfers the fwd onto the prop shaft for RWD

It is indeed the bottom of the transfer box/angle gear.

Thanks all.
I haven't got the car up yet to look for myself.
