Default Alarm siren replacement

Hi everyone,

I'm getting the usual alarm service error message so need to tackle the alarm siren battery or sort out a knackered PCB.

Can I use the car with the alarm siren removed, whilst I do the work?

you can, it will just show a fault, but I wouldn't because it's not a job I'd want to have to do twice

from what I've read on other people's posts the working 2nd hand ones are getting few a far between now and almost all of them are junk

I just bought a new siren, found an ebay one for about £170 IIRC

you might get away with cleaning yours up and replacing the battery but the odds are fairly slim maybe worth a try though I suppose

getting the old one out is fun. I went in from the wheel arch side, had to pull back the arch liner, cut two straight edges on the security bolt with the dremel, got grips on it and turned. some say you can get in from the front by taking out the headlight ?

if you do it that way kill 2 birds with one stone and change all your lamps at the same time
