Default S40 lower control arms

My daughters 2007 s40 2.0 petrol is requiring lower suspension arms x2 but when looking for them there are apparently 2 sizes of ball joints. Unfortunately I don't want to have to split the ball joints until I am replacing the arms is there any other way of correctly identifying the size req.
fortunately this isn't an issue with my car (xc90) that she is using until I get hers done. I personally think she does these things deliberately to get a shot of my car which I always get back with an empty fuel tank.
any help or guidance welcome

It's based on the chassis number, up to 209290 is 18mm and 209291 onwards is 21mm
