Default uneven idling or hunting as my mechanic called it

Hi i have a 1999 c70 2.0 turbo and the idling is pretty rough i been told its the throttle body but after some reaserch it might be the etm that needs a clean and update!!!!!!,the throttle body has been cleaned can anyone shed some light on this please

have you checked for air leaks this could cause your problem,does it run ok once you accelerate or is it just on tick over i had a the same problem but cleaned out the ETM and that cured it

I ain't no mechanic but have come across this with an old car.

I've found its normally airflow related. If you've cleaned the throttle body then check the hoses or main air flow sensor, they're normally placed near the air fliter.
