Gears are better than chain timing
Also your d5 hast gear tooth connection between the inlet and exhaust camshaft without any problems The troublesome 2 stroke lubrication seems to be solved by achates |

Lets hope then that it is a success for them . I would love a compression ignition engine that ran on water , produced 500 BHP & only sipped a gallon of water every 100 miles . I'm being silly , i know , but i am now convinced that the only real alternative is the hydrogen fuel cell . If windfarms / nuclear power stations / Solar power stations could split water to give us hydrogen cheaply , it would be a huge step forward in reducing oil dependancy & pollution . Even hybrid vehicles are polluters , even when using their battery pack . As unless it was tyopped up froma windfarm or solar cell , a fuel was burnt to power it again

i agree on the electric motors i love them too. But before they are cheap energy dense accuś its a pipedream
Also the powergeneration on the grid is taxing with all electric vehicles , we need those efficient engines on fossil/biofuels to bridge a transition to all electric Last edited by 5cilinder; Sep 1st, 2016 at 21:33. |

Cars will have to get smaller and lighter to save more fuel
Would help if the occupants did too - have you seen how lardy people are getting

Heres an idea , let render down / vacuum out all the lardy people in the UK , process the extracted goo into bio fuel & give it away at greatly reduced costs to diesel owners .
Result ??? The Uk is unlikely to sink due to their combined weight We become less reliant on fossil fuels The NHS stops wasting money on people with self inflicted problems due to greed Lighter people as Volvoid points out will be more fuel efficient Money saved all round & UK becomes a healthier place over all .

Or, install houses with a treadmill/bike that generates the electric to power the batteries in the cars.
Jokes aside, my future aim is to build a property that has a roof completely filled with Solar Tiles that will power the house and produce spare power for a Tesla. |

That would be a great setup. Good luck in your pursuit.
