Well, I have to say that it was worth the trip. Good to meet the old and bold again plus some new faces (but old names) for me. It was nice to meet your Folks, Andy - enjoyed the chats with them.

I thought that it was going to be the old 'soap' problem again as I was a bit lonely outside Toys R Us but then I got the call to visit Aldi ...

Good quite trip down but a bit of aggravation on the way back up. Some twonk in a yellow sports car (he looked a bit Japanese) overtook me very close and then cut in less than two feet in front of me. I did suggest to him that it would have been good if his parents had been at Hiroshima. Then several miles further north I was (slowly) passing a Saab and for some reason the driver kept accelerating. He gave up at about 120. 960 3ltr straight six, CD spec, has been equated to sh1t of a shovel at times ...

However, despite the best efforts of my fellow motorists I got home safe, but to a cold house. After the fitter's efforts on Friday there is a big air lock in the central heating system. The main pump (on the second floor and as far away from the front door as you can get) could be heard as I opened the door. It was grinding away with nothing but air to pump and the pump outer shell was almost too hot to touch. Got it all switched off and thr fitter is coming back on Sunday to try to sort it out. Meanwhile, no hot water and no hot radiators and the promise of more frost. Just as well I am a hardy Jock!

First can I say thank you to everyone that attended.

It was a good meet. We could have argued for months on the best time, and location, but I threw down a definate and it worked ok, it could be better but we know of that for the next one we do, Saturday afternoons at deepdale are busy and we know that now, so we can work on that.

I'd like to think we can call it a success and work from this point onwards. Let's discusess what could be better, and make it happen next time!

I got to love how much my little baby (The C30) stands out in that picture, yet at the same time doesn't look out of place.

Volvo are walking a tight rope in terms of updating their look, without forgetting their roots. IMO, that shows they aren't doing a bad job!

And a big thanks to Volvo Technical Assistance - aka Mike Alder. Thanks for fitting the battery in my Tom Tom.

Tried most of the features on the way home and its working fine.

Please forgive my late reply! Had a great time at the meet, was nice to meet everyone, and a nice varied mix of motors.

Keeping my fingers crossed I can get to Wetherby (and that's nothing to do with my cars reliability issues!!)

Martin.
