Default No more parts sales.

Hi guys, as of now there are to be no more parts being sold to anyone in the UK. I’m absolutely sick of trying to help people when I break a Volvo, it’s usually 2-3 a month. As of now the cars will be crushed complete or parts exported to other countries. I am in the process of locking down my eBay page so nobody in the UK that I don’t know will be able to purchase from there either.

My reasoning is simple, the complete abuse I get for mentioning that a car is being broken, not necessarily from people on this forum but also people on other platforms too. It’s my car and I will do as I like with it.

The other think is people suggesting that I’m selling things for too much money, they forget I have to buy the damn cars in the first place then collect it, test everything works, depollute it, spend ages stripping it then transport the rest to the scrap yard. I then have to spend ages listing all the parts from that car onto various platforms, spend a lot of time doing that then ship the parts which costs money as does the packaging materials.

After all of this I have to simply pay my wages. There have been too many idiots for a while now, it’s very simple, two people on this forum have convinced me it’s not worth dealing with the forum in general by the way they have behaved.

This morning I’m crushing a running B230FT car complete because Iv simply had enough of dealing with people and really cannot be bothered to go out of my way to do so any more.

Anyone who has parts requests still active will get their parts, however no new ones will take place.

Cheers

Tom

Sorry to hear that Tom.

I’m sure it’s not a decision you’ve made easily. Buyers seem to only have rights but no responsibilities these days. A bit like many kids!

Totally understand and support your decision. I used to break cars in the same way you do but in the end it wasn't worth the hassle and I've not done it for 6 years.

Best of luck to you serving international customers.

Yea I totally agree, you also get people ask for parts off a car and then never reply when you have stripped it off. I’d say 70% of my sales are abroad and of the 30% I sell in the UK 50% of those sales cause issues! I’m just sick of the mix of abuse and non payers and bargain hunters. I have always gone by the theory my price is my price, buy more the prices are less! Only yesterday someone on this forum returned an item that they bought off eBay and returned their broken part and demanded a full refund.

Honestly I get out of bed in the morning most days at the moment and think I really cannot be bothered for this nonsense. I have some serious health issues including having a stoma and I really have lost interest, it’s not doing my health any good at all. It’s easier for me to bring stuff in, strip off what I want and throw the rest in the bailer to eliminate all the stress!

That's a great shame because people like you provide a great service and earn a livliehood. The problem is a certain type who seem to want everything for free. Perhaps if the cheapscate who returned his own broken part for a refund reads this thread he might have a mea culpa if he realises that what he was attempting, is known as fraud. Of course in the old days he would probably have visited the local scrapyard and simply stolen what he wanted. Such is society nowadays it's quite depressing.

I'm with the others here. It's a shame[but understandable]that you've had to make this decision.I've bought from you in the past[and if I remember correctly we've had a couple of lengthy telephone conversations]and I must say I thought your prices were entirely reasonable[I wouldn't have bought them if I thought otherwise] sounds like another case of the few spoiling it for the many, but for the sake of your health as much as anything else I think you've made the right call.

Totally support your decision. A chappie who breaks C70 has suffered the same issues. It isn't just cars tho' , all internet selling seems to be fraught with problems and Facebook in particular seems to be the repository for every idiot who has ever been born. Good luck with your health.
