Here's the car from the Volvo stand at Paris motorshow - gaps appear to be similar. Sorry about the large image, but hopefully gives a good idea of what you're looking for.

I know makers have an acceptable tolerance for shut lines etc. I guess the

Strange thing is, I can't find a picture of any other V40 with that rubber seal..!

Could be a model year variation thing.
