Default V50 1.8D engine rattle at 1500 RPM

I recently bought a 2010 V50 1.8D and noticed a rattle from the engine.

The rattle is noticeable at around 1500 RPM and goes away at idle as well as higher RPM. It makes no difference if the car is driving or parked.

I believe I have pinpointed the rattle to the metal cover marked in the picture below, as it stops when I put pressure on it.

I also noticed that there is a hole for a bolt further down, and the rattle stops when I put pressure there as well:

Has something fallen off? It doesn't seem there is anything below the metal sheet that a bolt would attach to.

Could it be a loose heat shield?

I think this is higher than where the heat shield would be attached, but perhaps I should take a look under the car - just to make sure.

Can't answer your question, other than thats probably a heat shield thats rattling. As far as I know there wasn't a 1.8 diesel V50. It was 1.6 and then 2.0
