Default New XC90 XC70 Web Site Spotted

As a web optimiser, I will be pointing as many web robots and search engines as I can to this new site.

http://www.xc90-dont-buy-one.co.uk

It should do a really good job in helping to sell the xc90 and xc70.

Thanks - really helpful that when I come to sell my car which I may add I have no intention of doing soon as its the best I have owned.

Volvo should definitely put this right but shouldn't we keep things in perspective. Inherent faults in cars is hardly a new thing. Who builds a flawless car? Probably Lexus comes the closest, but I wouldn't want one.

Lets look at some expensive problems with prestige marques.

BMW M3 - VANOS system (megabucks)
BMW 5 Series - Air flow meters
BMW E36 3 Series - 121 recognised design faults, with no factory recalls!
Audi turbo diesels - Auto electrics a disaster, and twitchy turbos. This then relates to all cars with these engines, VW, Seat, Skoda, etc.

My best friend has an Audi A3 Diesel, 2005 with 75k miles. Yes, new turbo time, £1500 for the turbo, not including labour at over £100 per hour. Nice one, his last car did the same, a VW Sharan. Anyone heard of factory recalls there?

This is of course the tip of the iceberg. How about Ford, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Renault, Citroen, anything with Rover in the title, fiat, alfa romeo, etc.

What's wrong with these cars? The front bumper, the rear bumper, and everything that comes in between.

Is this a case of people being so used to Volvos running for ever, that any thought of a fault is abhorrent.

Why would you want to promote a website like this without highlighting ever other car with persistent faults.

There is no history to back up an inherant problem with the angle gear that I can see.

This guy recons his car had a problem for 3 years before he noticed it was there. I know a lot of people who would be over the moon to have a car that had a major fault that you didn't notice.

The web site was only created today, so I think this guy is promoting his own site and the company he works for.

Toyota can't be any good because they make the autobox.

Maybe I should recomend a good bike manufacturer to him. ;-)

For what it's worth, 'weak' angle gears on P2 AWD cars are something I've heard of several times. I don't know much in the way of details, but I'd agree that it is, to an extent, a 'known' problem.

cheers

James

Yeah Roy, of course, because you don't have the problem it doesn't exist.
Slightly arrogant wouldn't you say?
And the chap that took his xc90 into Squires last week was dreaming it?
His Angle Gear Ass'y had also totally failed. Front wheels on grass rear wheels on concrete. NO DRIVE!!! just spinning fronts.

Also, in Mixams' defence he never said anything of the sort, he said "My misses and I drove hers for possibly 3 years without noticing."
But I suppose that's just poetic licence on your part?

The other item you conveniently over look is what percentage of Volvo owners actually know of the forum or chose not to post?. Less than 5% I would guess.

Roy you've had your say, you've said you don't have this problem (yet) so move on to another thread, stop defending the un-defendable, and get a life outside of this forum thread. You're becoming a bit of an anorak. My family have only had five Volvo's so we obviously bow to your superior knowledge.

I also think Mixams' new logo is a better reflection of Volvo's customer service over recent years.

So come on Roy take off those Volvo underpants, put down the rose tinted specs and smell the coffee.
