V50 radio missing!!

Hi , I have bought an MY08 V50 with no radio , but the vendor has supplied me with a replacement ....am I in trouble . Do I have any option other than to go to a dealer??

No radio? You mean the LCD display unit is completely missing?

If so, the unit is coded to the car so unless it's a new one supplied by a dealer and coded to the car the likelihood is it won't work.

The display is there and working , it's just radio /cd unit that's missing

They are coded to the car so giving you a replacement (unless it has been specially tampered with) will NOT work.

You can purchase a replacement or even upgrade to a 6 cd changer via a dealer but this will set you back approx. £600.

There is a couple of specialists out there that may manage to get a 2nd hand one working for you but in short it is a dealer visit and purchase a new one. I'd get whoever supplied you the car to brunt the cost of this??

Will need a software reload can't remember if it's Iam or icm upgrade . Get it booked in at your local Volvo dealer
