Default Mystery “module” in XC90 engine bay

I hope I’m not wasting everyone’s time with this, but can anybody help me to identify a strange “module” inside the engine bay of my XC90 D5 2012 - see photo. It’s a substantial metal box about 100mm square and 30mm deep, sitting on the chassis member that runs across the bottom of the engine bay, just behind the radiator. It has a yellow barcode sticker on it, so it must be fairly important, but it seems to have no mechanical linkages or electrical connections whatsoever. I just cannot work out what the function of this box might be.

I’m asking out of curiosity as it seems to be causing no problems, despite having lost one of its M10 mounting bolts, which I replaced. Any ideas what on earth it is?

It is known as a Mass Damper... to absorb any vibration in the subframe.
