‘02 S60 2.0t tuning. Can it be done?
Good evening all,
Earlier this year I purchased an 850 saloon and ULEZ has ruined it for me. So I’ve now purchased a 2002 S60 2.0t. I have been looking into turning it into a bit of a sleeper car and modding it because it’s currently Gold and very old man looking, and think it would be quiet fun to make it fast whilst looking slow. Has anyone done anything their S60s that could pass on some advice? I’m not on social media and know this is probably the best place to start because google is a wash of sponsored chip companies trying to sell their remaps… Thanks in advance! Darrell |

Hi Have a look at superchips,
also i have a S60 2002 D5, and have fitted all new suspension, i fitted KONI Adjustable, and Eibach Springs, and ultra racing under body and front and rear strut braces, if you are interested i have got a set of un-used black diamond braided S/Steel Brake Hoses in the box, for sale that will fit your car, £55 inc shipping i did not use as i have a set of volvo R Brakes and Discs to fit, Dave |

Thanks for the response. I booked superchips in and all seemed well then they cancelled saying it requires soldering which they no longer do. Which is annoying! |

I suppose part of the problem is you've got a 20 year old car and tuning companies have moved on to more modern stuff since then ? that's not to say it isn't possible somehow obviously
I've seen this question pop up a a couple of times and both times it just fizzled out into basically if you want more power get a T5 or an R I realise that's not very helpful, but maybe there's something to be said for leaving it alone, enjoy it for a few years, do some minor repairs and make it really tidy, sell it on before the miles get too high to keep as many people interested as possible. and like davebb said you can definitely improve the handling on these wobbly old hectors that's just my take on it anyway, I'm not really one for fiddling around with stuff too much at the risk of potentially making it worse somehow. the electrics and canbus etc in these cars in particular can be a bit of a nightmare even as standard Last edited by stuart bowes; Aug 30th, 2023 at 21:13. |
