You're far more likely to bend rods with a stock map, since there's less 'extension' in the map to cope with elevated boost...but of course exceeding the limits of your fuel system will reduce even big beefy H-beam rods to a pile of banana shaped metal pretty damn quickly with detonation. Their real strength is in what you can do with them once the tuning is spot on.
In other words, fitting 'big' rods instead of tuning the engine properly is daft, in my book. cheers James |
