Newbie with lots of questions!!!

Hi there, i got my first volvo at the weekend, its a 2.0 ltr v40 and i have a few questions about it......

1. the gear box bushes have gone (struggle to get it in 5th,goes in 3rd and vice versa and theres loads of play in the gear stick) and i was wondering how easy it is to change them over your self????

2. ive noticed the front speakers dont seem to work? any ideas??

3. i want to put smoked or black marker lamps on, wheres the best/cheapest place to get them from? one needs replacing as the cover is cracked!

4.i want a dog guard for the boot?

5. and finally, i want an induction kit, wheres the best and cheapest place for one of them too?

i want i want i want!

welcome im new too, everyones very helpful, as for the dog gaurd try looking on ebay or try salvo their quite expensive new so i ended up making one its not pretty but it does the job.

what model is yours?

Hi and welcome!!

1) There is a guide on here. Just use the search function to find it.

2) There may have been an amplifier fitted with an after-market headunit. When the previous owner refitted the Volvo stereo, they didnt reconnect the front speakers (these are the ones most commonly "amped"). Just pull out the Volvo unit and check wiring/connections.

You probably find most of what you're after from the above company.

You also find a chap on here caller Rufe (Simon) and he's a main dealer who does mail order. I'm sure he'll do a good price on those linkage bushes for you

i did use the search facility, thats how i found the symptoms i had. i did see the guards on ebay, they are the mesh ones though, are they as good? the plugs are in the back of the volvo stereo, nothing looks like its ever been touched!

just remembered the bloody remote key fob doesnt work either, i changed gthe batterys and still nothing!

i think the bushes are only £5.70 ish anyway arent they?? didnt realise the marker lenses would be nearly £50!!!!!! do they not sell them in packs of 4 anywhere else? did a quick search on google and couldnt find anything there????
