Radio/Stereo: Radio Codes Please

I can't see ANY reason why Volvo should not release codes for vehicles, say, that are more than 10 years old. What harm could it possibly do?

Let's face it, the chances of any self respecting scroat wanting to steal anything as ancient as a 15 year old Volvo radio that doesn't go BOOM BOOM BOOM and have flashing lights on it, so that their thick, drug soaked brains can actually find it in the dash is pretty slim!

Might save Simon (RUFE) an awful lot of work as well.

Personally the BEST thing I ever did was to replece the head unit on my 940 with something that actually sounds better, has bluetooth/mp3 etc and receives stations that weren't even thought of in those days.

Bobbych, if its any help please ask your buyer to contact me for a code by pm on here and I assure you I will try to help them. I am glad you understand my reason and its certainly not personal, its always been a grey area but I do not wish to be stopped from helping people with their Radio codes.

I have now sold the unit to MARCEL on here, who obviously fixes radios, so he prob can recode it, but he may ask you for the code.

Now, does this mean I can no longer ask you for any codes?

I think if we can start with the Model and Serial number of your unit, if it transpires any more Identificational information is required i will amend the post...Maybe one of the Dealers can clarify this...

I have on various volvos had radio code problems all I ever did was to take my log book for the car to my local Volvo Dealer and he imputs the vin no. of the car onto the Volvo computer and it tells you the code for the radio fitted to that car - *SIMPLES"

model no............. sc805
then i also have 3533958-1 (unsure wot it is tho )
and also 2 rows of 4 numbers.... 4980 and 9704
unfortunately i have no idea as to the registration of the vehicle it came from pleeeeassseeee help,, the thought of a 250 mile journey with just the kids and wife whining is a real trauma lol.. i need music.. thanx in advance... dt
