Volvo 340 1.7 GLE Another Coolant Leak
My volvo seems to be suffering another coolant leak. Water has collected on the "rocker cover"/engine block underneath the airfilter. There hasn't been a visible drop in water level in the expansion tank and no leaks have been spotted from the windscreen washer jets/pipes. Any ideas on the problem/cost of repair thanks in advance Rob |

RE: Volvo 340 1.7 GLE Another Coolant Leak
What year is the car, it may be the preheating pipes that run to the carb base, depending on year, the later ones had an electric element, but the earlier ones were heated by coolant, easy and cheap to fix if its that. Just the cost of the hoses. I would just disconnect the hoses and allow the excess coolant to run out and then change them, and top up. Make sure the heater control is set at max to minimise the chance of any air bubbles getting into the system.

OOOO that's just around the cut off point! so you'll have to look. There will be coolant pipes secured to the carb base plate with jubilee clips on a sort of tee piece if it is there.
