Default 17"s on a S40?

I am new to the volvo scene and i am wanting to fit some 17"s to my S40, its a 1996 2.0 CD with "sporty" suspention on the front (well its got black wheel arch things on the front but not rear and i belive that what they signify...) but normal rear suspention.

has anyone put 17"s on their S40 leaving suspention standard? does it look too high?

I am also wanting to purchase said wheels so if anyone has any for sale i will be very interested.

Cheers

John

I had 17's on my phase 1 s40 but i had it lowered before i fit them so i don't know what it looks like with just wheels on. I can tell you i never had any problems with them they didn't scrape even on full lock and it handled alot better once i got used to it.

How much did you lower it by? Was it just springs you changed or shocks aswell? Got any pictures of the car at all?

Have a look on eBay for wheels, there are some there for sale. Search under Volvo S40. Also look at Carlos Pina's site :-http://www.s40concepts.net/ you will get some good ideas there plus lots of photo's of lowered S40's

Ray are you sure they are for sale on Ebay. I have had a look but can find nothing under Volvo S40 or V40. I was hoping that Jeff had decided to put his up for auction. Could you give me some more info on where you saw them.

Thanks

Nick

Yeah i have some pics of it, it was lowered 35mm on eibach springs and standard volvo sports shocks and it handled brilliant didn't bounce about like some cars lowered on standard shocks tend to do.

Look at theses links for pics

Try this link
http://search-desc.ebay.co.uk/search...2&BasicSearch=

If this dosen't work after going in to a Volvo S40 search on eBay check the "in titles & descriptions box, top left.
