Default S40 Windows

I have a 1998 S40 and want to change the electric windows for my passenger side to be the same 'one-touch' as the ones I have on the driver's side. Is it a straight-forward thing of just buying two of the 'AUTO' switches (the same as the ones I have for my driver's side) and replacing the two for the passenger side (one in the centre console and one in the door) ?

No idea what the answer is but to test the theory why not just remove one of the "auto" switches and replace one of the non auto switches with it.

Should only take a few minutes.

The AUTO function is controlled by the "control box" that controls the window opening not the switch.

Some vehicles have a seperate black box for each of the windows. If this is the case on the S40 then you just need the control box with the auto function.

If however there is only one control box for all the windows then you could only swap the leads over so that the auto fucntion works on a different window.

I've not had cause to look for it in the Volvo.
Logically, it would be in the centre console under the window switches.
But, it could be anywhere between the switches and the window so it will be case of following the wires.

As for looks. Well, it's a box full of electronics with lots of wires coming out of it. ;)
