Default Map and app update.

Hard on the heels of the recent troublesome 1390 map update for sensus which failed to install several times, my V90 today downloaded and installed 1393 OTA during a one-hour journey.

In addition, two apps updated, Glympse and Park & Pay, during the same journey this morning.

Mine did it yesterday.
But I do think the final message odd "Leave car with engine off to finish installing"
Locked or unlocked? Sensus on or off? How long with the engine off?

Just turn off the car and lock it as usual. The new map will be ready for use next time you use the car.

I've a 2017 S90 D4.

Lost count the amount the amount of times it downloaded, installed then failed.

For over a week no updates.

Today it updated glymsp and Pay and park.

I checked the Maps to find for North West Europe, it says download to big for OTA.

Strange others seem to have got it OTA....

I've only ever installed North Eastern Europe (UK basically).

That said, I bought the car at just over a year old - who knows what was installed before.....

Ok, so had to do a USB install, as North West Europe maos was too big.

It was version 1393, 2.7Gb. Latest version per PC.

Took a very long time (couple days/long journeys) to install via USB, but went smoothly.

I was on a said long journey and when asked to leave car off to complete, turned car off completely at a set of traffic lights.

All fine, except weirdly the very instant I turned car back on and install confirmed..... an OTA update started installing????

That went smoothly, now on V 1396.

Yes, I started this thread on 9th Sept when 1393 installed just days after the troublesome 1390 had finally installed. Here we are less than a week later and my V90 also installed version 1396 today OTA.

The frustration of course is that we never know whether the update contains new map data or whether its just a re-application of a dodgy previous one!
