hi everyone I'm new I have looked through the archives but I cannot find info on the following, can anyone help me.
I have just bought a 2000 V40 1.8s after having my beloved 850 2.5 20v written off by a drunk driver who abandoned the scene, b*****d! When I go over about 60 the brake warning and ABS lights comes on. It is fine below this speed and once the engine has been turned off and restarted the fault clear. I have checked the ABS at low speeds and it seems to work. It passed its MOT 2 days ago. For the MOT I did fit new rear pads and discs surprising as it has only done 38k has anyone got any suggestions or experienced something similar. I read the info on how to reset the service light but holding the odometer zeroing button and moving the ignition switch to various points does not seem to do it. Am I going to have to take it to a dealer? With the alarm imobilizer I read a recent question about the dash LED mine has one as well but it does not come on when looking with the remote. Does this mean it does not have an alarm. I tried opening the doors after looking with the remote and according to the handbook the alarm should have triggered but it did not. Is there some sort of service position for the alarm apart from the switch on the dash which I can use to reactive it? Finally my stereo is the HU 605 with the 2 prong aerial lead. The connector which plugs into the back of the stereo was damaged. I have contacted Volvo to see if I can get another one but they stated I would need to buy the whole lead costing......£38+VAT!! Sorry to go on but the wife says I am an old windbag at the ripe old age of 33 Please help and sorry if these questions have been answered already. |
