The washer bottle side is solid so just needed cleaning back, still need to treat it and paint it. It may need a small bit of welding in the corner by the inner arch.

Not for much longer, the entire underside is done now so just the two rays to do and then it can go for an MOT.

Battery trays are now welded, treated, etch primed and chassis painted.

My mate will be coming over with his air gun and stonechip on Friday to stinechip the whole underside and inside the engine bay on the trays etc.

Dinitrol has been sprayed in all crevices and all the chassis rail access points now so it won't be rusting again any time soon!

My dad then fabricated a bracket for MAF using the unthreaded rivnuts on the wheel arch, he tapped them out and then used short bolts. Dad was going to put a gusset on the bracket to make it completely solid but we decided it would need a little bit of flex for the engine movement so the MAF and pipe could move a bit too.

The feed for the bulb will be taken from the trim bulb next to it for the heated mirrors/demister.

Hi Luke
Just getting up to date with your progress - good work as usual!
Looking at your gauge surround - I've found a rattle can of PlastiKote matt black paint is a good match for the dash plastic colour and texture - at least on a 240. I think I bought mine from Wickes.
Good luck with the rest of the build.
Tim

Thanks Tim, it is almost done now!

Thanks for the suggestion on the paint, I sent the customer the photos of it and he said he wants to keep it bare aluminium! Each to their own I suppose.

I sent the gauges to Dave with some capacitors so he could repair the gauges for me. Turns out the capacitors and the solder was a bit knackered to say the least!

This purple one had completely separated from one of its prongs and leaked over a few components.

After Dave had worked his magic and almost been shot in the face by an exploding solder sucker.
