Many moons ago i had an aftermarket rev counter fitted under the dash in a similar place to your #2 position Luke.

It was fine until i kicked it 23 times a day getting in and out and changing gear.

Had to move it in the end.

What about a genuine boost guage? Think they fit in the rev counter?

Haha, that made me laugh.

I need a boost gauge with numbers on it so I can set the manual boost controller accurately.

Funny thing was, i worked less than 1.5 miles from home so 23 times a day was short journeys only!

Could you not set the MBC using a guage with numbers then retro-fit a genuine guage? Put some sort of marking on the MBC control knob so your customer knows how much he's giving it?

He wants that gauge so that's what I've got to fit, finding a genuine one is a hard task in itself, I've sold the one I've got in the breaker too.

We have progress!

Everything is bolted back on the engine and wiring loom is all fitted up, I've cleaned the engine bay a bit too.

The downpipe for the turbo car isn't as long as the N/A downpipe, the downpipe is about three inches too short to bolt up... I've got some pipe I can extend it with hopefully if the diameter is correct.

Went to start it and it just cranks no running. So I phoned Dave, he seriously knows his stuff and helped me track the fault down to the grey terminal on the injectors isn't losing enough voltage during cranking, it is only dropping to 10.6V so the injector isn't firing. Dave suggested trying a piece of wire on the terminal and earth it out off and on manually... end result is I can get it to run but only for a few seconds. So now I need to check the wiring from the injectors back to pin 18 or just cut the wire at the ECU and solder in a new length of wire and splice it in to the loom for the injectors.

The customer also bought an egg crate grille and got it sent to me so I shave swapped the chrome surround from the waterfall grille on to it, the centre chrome is missing but the waterfall one is a different size.

ECU prepped ready for the new chip from Martin Smith, I believe it is an immobiliser delete, 6700rpm limit and scaled for the T5 injectors.

And she runs!!!

Very responsive to small throttle inputs due to Martin's chip.

So in a few days hopefully it can go to my dads house for welding and then I can crack on with my 940 M90 conversion!
