Hi VickyG

Don't know if I'm too late with this, digging around Online regarding my forthcoming caliper rebuild, and had seen your post about master cylinder a few days ago.

Found a master cylinder repair kit apparently for 940 I was searching for bits for mine a 1994 model

Found Bigred in Uk £16.25 inc vat, presume plus post.

https://www.biggred.co.uk/volvo-940-...ir-kit-brm1322

Hope it may assist.

Cheers
Steve

Sorry for late reply folks and thanks for offers of spares. A seal kit did not exist for my MC unfortunately but I managed to buy a used one which was fitted and seems to be doing the job. It has a slight "squeak" which the original one didn't. I don't know if that means anything.

Bleeding the brakes, wow that was tedious on this car. Also changed rear discs and pads as when we got in there they were terrible!

The slight squeak is probably a bit of trapped air in the system. Remove the brake light fuse to avoid flattening the battery then wedge the brake pedal down overnight, that may cure it. If not, wait until you bleed it again when you renew the fluid in a couple of years.

Glad you got mobile again anyway!
