Question Flame Orange

Hi, This is my first post but am looking for some help/support ...

We are in the process of buying a v50 SELux and were thinking about going for the Flame Orange possibly with the Black/White leather (akin to the RDesign)

But... we are not sure about the Flame Orange - it looks good on the c30 ...but wonder what it looks like on a v50...

Does anybody have one; seen one; or have any thoughts ?

HELP ...

Welcome,

All I would say is its one of those colours that grows on you or doesnt.

I personally would advise against going for this colour as its not that sort after and the resale value may not be as good (no disrespect to ppl who have this colour).
My misus was considering buying a Dodge nitro in sunburnt orange, the more I studied pics and saw one in the flesh, the more I hated the colour in the end and was so glad we didnt get one in that colour, we went for a Jazz blue!. Go for a safer bet, white is an extremely popular colour now.

I think Jonnieb2009 has hit the nail on the head here. Bold colours are great but I can almost see the future where the car salesman is shaking his head in that fake way that they do and muttering "if only you hadn't gone for that colour, I could have given you more for it".

It depends how long you intend to keep the car. If you are going to keep it for 5 years plus then your resale value will be such that the colour will not matter. If however you would change within 3 years then it has more of an impact. Of course the pleasure you may get from seeing a different and bold colour may outweigh the slight reduction in re-sale value and that makes going for it worthwhile. You are allowed to have fun with your cars.

I like the new bold colours that are out there as it makes a change from the standard silver and black which are so common place, this from someone who has a black car so I accept my hypocrisy. They are also great for finding your car in a car park. The bright blue that Volvo do is a cracking colour with a bit of life in it, could that be a good compromise?

The Flame Orange would certainly look very interesting on a V50 but as others have said, ok for long ownership, not ok for short one.

However, if you lease the car, colour is NOT a concern and will be worth the same after 3 years as a blue or black car - in my experience anyway.

If you got to Volvos wesbite then you can use their 'car configurator ' to build your own V50 in Orange flame with 360 views - you can spin it around - I know its not in the flesh but gives you an idea and you can play around with the other colours.

there doesn't seem to be any around on the second hand market!
If it were me, I would want to see one in the flesh when clean and when dirty.
Does it look so bad....no! I remember the the Saints Volvo C70 coupe. Another interesting colour! Still looks ok today.

It is all about personal choice, it you like it, buy it. Don't worry about selling the call already!

not sold on the flame orange...

... if you want to sell it again I'd go something more in keeping with an estate... a dark metallic or silver?

You will definitely be a one of a kind in this color,

I do agree with everyone else though you will find it hard to shift if trying to sell, or part ex value not as strong as a dark color.

Have you thought about the medium dark metallic red, that might be a better option.
