I changed the fronts after about 30k when I got fed up of the on/off nature, lack of pedal feedback and disproportionate effort for hard stops. I've just changed the rears after about 50k because the pads were down to 2mm and it was MOT time. So yes they last forever but the surface of the discs look like the pads were serrated and the feel/performance of them was noticeably mediocre. The car feels much better on genuine parts and stops much more smoothly and you have much more control over the rate of decelaration. I am not saying that all non-gen parts are dangerous or unsafe or not fit for purpose but they are not the same as genuine. And for a fastidious driver like me, the cost different, which I choose to pay, is worth every penny....
