Default Genuine coil springs or KYB?

13 plate XC60 D5. Piece fell out of rear coil spring. Anybody any experience with above choices? Will do both rears anyway.

I put KYB on the front and no problems.
Will be using KYB again soon on the back, with bilstein shocks and getting away from the Nivomats

Thank you. Other option is Lesjofors. I would bite the bullet for Genuine, but I doubt they are really that good?

I have replaced front and rears on mine with genuine but to be honest this is the first car I have owned where I have had to replace any springs so they cannot be that good.

Whether after market ones are any better who knows?

As with all parts for scars of a certain age, my question is always, do Volvo actually make the springs, shocks, wiper blades etc., or does a spring manufacturer make them, and put volvo on them, to allow a dealer to artificially mark up the part??

With previous cars, I've always gone with the manufacturer of the part, and my v60 would be no different, but its only my tuppence worth.

I have ordered 2 KYB for rears. It is a lottery. I think it is down to the steel and the batches that come out at whatever time. Factories have had some bad spring material coming out in phases over the years. The roads, the low profile tyres and the weight of our vehicles all count as well.
Thank you all for input.
