I know what they are, Wise Old

My point was that even something as simple as a piece of rubber can vary significantly in terms of quality and can make noticeable difference in performance.
In my case polybush introduced an annoying noise. Obviously your case is completely different - I'm really keen to hear will there be any difference at the end. That's why I asked if the original ones were broken...

Cheers

Had the inserts put in this morning. Steering is now almost straight. But i have one bush on the subframe gone. The one on the drivers side rear is completely squashed and breaking up. So really needs replacing.

I read somewhere that there are 3 the same and 1 odd man out. Is the one that went on yours the odd one?

I have the poly inserts (sounds like a dentures forum!) and they sharpen things up, but my indie didn't say whether he noticed any deterioration when he put them in.

No mine all seem to be the same type. I also have the poly inserts in which is how i found one squashed.
The one i got off ebay at £15 is a original part. Some guy had two for sale. I think £27 + vat is a bit much. But there are quite a few original volvo ones on ebay
