06 C70 Boot leak
Hi folks!
I have a large damp/wet area on the bottom of the boot well of my 2006 C70 hard top coupe/Cabrio. Volvo changed the rear light cluster which has done no good whatsoever. Anyone else had this problem? |

I have two damp patches in the floor of my '07 C70 boot, around the bolts fixing the eyes for tying luggage down. Just noticed it today.
I may take these bolts out and lubricate with Teflon or silicone grease before refitting. We get a lot of water dripping in when we open the boot lid too. Seems to be a poor design fault that lets water run inside the boot lid and drip on the floor! |

I had the same experience with my 06 C70 - the boot was OK most of the time, but every so often would be at least damp and sometimes swimming in an inch of water.
It turned out to be a problem with the hard moulded carpet trim on the underside of the boot lid. The corners were just catching the rubber seal at the base of the rear window as I closed the boot and causing a small gap. This gap was at the perfect place to catch all the rainwater running down the window, so when driving, a substantial amount of water made it through. Simple solution, involving a pair of shears, and the problem has been resolved. Hope this helps. Mark |

What's the best way to trim this stuff, given that it's curved? It seems quite tough for a stanley knife. |

Check your boot drains are free running before you start surgery. They block very quickly, esp in autumn.

Plus I can see a gap between the rubber seal and the boot lid. As I can't see anything wrong with the seal, I do wonder whether something is getting in the way, ie this carpet trim stuff. |
