Reverse light upgrade
I have a 2011 V70, reverse lights are a bit naff, I understand LED bulbs cannot be fitted, well found online anyway!
Why have people done to improve visibility? Added extra lights somewhere/somehow? I’m open to all suggestions 👍🏻 |

I used these on my SAAB 9000:
https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-G...ucts/294361030 2x50W equivalent LED for a fiver. I hacked off the reflector behind the panel on the light bar in the hatchback door, and glued them directly to the lens with a ring of silicone adhesive around the edges. Worked a treat. If I stood behind the car with reverse engaged, I could see my silhouette on the house across the road. I haven't investigated if I can do a similar hack on the V70 yet. Still faffing around with towbars and electrics.

There are a few places that sell PH16W led bulbs, https://www.auto-lighting.co.uk/prod...UTOMOTIVE.html

You touch your lights in Swiss and police will shot you twice in stomach and watch you die.

I thought LED couldn’t be fitted?
The ones linked above are LED.

Off topic, but in the S80, which only has a reverse light on one side, I'm sure I read somewhere the other side has the reflector and bulb holder already behind the clear lense, just no wiring. So it should be possible to run a cable to that side and fit a bulb.

As far as the rear fogs are concerned, I've wired the non operative lamp on other cars and it's not difficult. Usually the lamp cluster has contacts for the bulb but no wiring and you just run the wire from the operative lamp to the inoperative one and they both work. Just need to identify the live contacts to pick up the feed and the unused ones to supply it to the lamp.
