Default Towbar info. needed

Hi, I bought a used Westfalia detachable towbar for my V70 (which has regular suspension).

I just found out that it's a 13.4260 and is for a V70 with self levelling suspension or an XC70 without.

Does anyone know what the difference is between one for non-self levelling and self levelling? I phoned a couple of Westfalia dealers, but no one seemed to know.

don't know the answer, sorry, but if it turns out to be no good, and it fits an XC70 2016, I might be interested.

Thanks. If it doesn't work out, I'll give you a PM.

The difference is that the towbar for self levelling is lower, since the car will not sink down due to the load.
The towbar for standard suspension is higher, to still keep the trailer hitch at a reasonable level, in spite of the car becoming lower due to the load.

Thank you. I just managed to confirm this by comparing part dimensions here:

Without self levelling p3 parts

With self levelling p2 parts

The only part number which is different is 'B' the towing hook. The drawings confirm that the Self Levelling version tow ball is 41mm lower and 8mm nearer to the car than the Without Self Levelling.

A very long shot! Anyone moving to a self levelling V70 or XC70 and would like to swop for the correct tow ball? There will now follow a very long silence.

Of course, the other question is, should I fit the ball and run with it 41mm lower?

Update. Now managed to source the correct (316165) tow hook.

So now I have a Westfalia (307296) detachable tow hook going spare for V70 WLC and XC70 WOHC 2008-2016
