Default XC60 damage repair estimates

Evening chaps, my new XC60 AWD Recharge met with some black ice and a brick wall. Photo attached.
Impact speed was slow and the airbags did not deploy.
Steering alignment was badly off when I moved the car to a safer spot.
What are you ballpark estimates on the repair costs?
Cheers all.

The headlamp alone will be in excess of £800 I believe, add in the fog light, bumper, bonnet, wing, bumper trim, likely headlamp washer and some other bits behind the bumper. Plus whatever damage is done to the steering. I wouldn’t be surprised for a bill of £3-4K if main dealer prices. Maybe even more.

There was a thread recently in which a 2021 XC90 T8 Recharge with light front damage was a Cat S salvage, written off. Hopefully you will get it sorted to your satisfaction.

The above posters are way way off! The headlight will be £800-1600 alone (top end).

The bumper will need to be blended in with the bonnet and wing so at least 2.5K for that. And I do not believe the insurers will wish to panel best the wing or bonnet (they are creased and whilst a body shop may attempt repair if you were paying cash it can’t be beaten out).

I would be very very surprised if you saw any change from £6,000 to £8,000. If you have any parking sensors, pre tensioner a that have deployed etc etc you could see a little above that…

I assume the insurance company are paying for this? Surely you are not yourself?I would be really interested to see what the final bill is?

If you are to pay for it yourself cash then you could probably half that?

And the rest... as he said the steering is out so there is some suspension work. That could just be a wishbone but could be a wishbone and a strut, subframe, wheel and tyre, etc.

That could be north of £10k on a bad day.

On a related tack, my dad has just signed up to this :

https://www.volvocars.com/uk/Own/Mai...ent-Assistance

(There is a service where you can register in advance and they commit to refunding your insurance excess).

Might be helpful?

The bumper cover alone is well over a grand.

Yeah, they might claim no one will die in a Volvo but if you scratch one you might wish you had. Still, insurance.
