Ecp sells recon compressors do I need to add oil? How do I know?

Do I need to change the drier? Can’t find any information about these on v70’s.

2004 prefaclift 2.0t petrol.

Firstly and most importantly :
Since 2010 it has been illegal to tamper with any AC system unless you have the certification equipment and training to do so , the fine for willingly letting AC gas into the atmosphere is up to £40,000 .
Also you could be severely injured by frostbite if a jet of the liquid gas sprays on your skin .

Before fitting the new compressor you must drain out as much ( if any ) of the oil in it as possible and then pour into the inlet port 70 cc of new PAG oil . It must not be put in with the gas . The person who drains the system will know how much oil came out with the gas and that same amount must be added back with the new gas .

Thanks for you help with that.

I’ve spoken to the guy who will be draining the system and he’s going to leak test it first to see if I need to change anything else. Ill chat to him on the day but is there a reason you say 70cc of oil? The Nissans instructions quote 150ml?

Oh I see. I think I’m going to have to get a old laptop and get setup!

I don’t suppose you could tell me the torque figures for the aux tensioner, ac compressor bolts and the two hoses that connect to it?

Unlike most cars I’ve worked on information on these Volvos is super hard to find. Would really appreciate it.

Torque settings are in vida as well although when I looked you do still have to do a bit of minor detective work to figure it out

Instructions and exploded diagrams of everything as well

You don't need an old laptop it will run on Windows 10 as well, https://docs.google.com/document/d/e...i3cpHBdsZa/pub

Torrent links at bottom start instructions about halfway down for the software itself

25 nm for the torx bolt on the Aux Belt tensioner ,
The compressor bolts are 8mm thread so nip them up as you would any other of that size but don't strain them .

The pipe nuts don't rely on tightness to hold and seal the pipe so again nip them up and a bit more without straining them .

Damn and blast or so I thought but now I’m not sure.

Changed the ac compressor which all went fine all connected up and ready to take to my ac chap to charge up again. The clutch won’t engage. I’ve had a quick google and it says it may have a pressostat to stop it engaging when there isn’t any pressure in the system.

I cancelled my slot but didn’t get chance to speak to my mechanic.

Anyone know the answer?
