Agreed the side marker lights are not very bright in daylight or even overcast light but tbh I've not looked at them in the dark . Unfortunately, I can't open the attachment, v bulletin refers me to the administrators, possibly because I've not done many posts and still a "newbie"! I'm not unduly worried about it but I've always liked things to work if they're meant to work, but I'm certainly not going to loads of money out just to get them working. I perhaps should have mentioned its a 2012 plate model Martyn |

These lights are the daytime running lights and front position marker lights they should come on when the ignition is switched on and during daylight should be at their brightest and are then dimmed when the main lights are on .
On later cars they are lower down and further out Hope this helps

The first you seem to have ruled out, as you say all bulbs in the main headlight unit (including the 'position' light) are working, the other appears to be a bit more involved but does sound doable if you're happy working on cars and have the time. Post 15 from the thread link: "After removing the bumper and disconnecting the large connector near the drivers side wheel I realised the fault lay with the large connector as the ground and wiring was 100% ok. After pulling the connector apart and cleaning it with electrical cleaning spray I put the bumper back on and now they work perfectly. Access to the large connector is much easier via the front drivers wheel arch. Just remove the 4 screws, pull back the inner mud guard." If nothing else, it's something to try if you do get stuck at MOT time. Last edited by Rocinante; Nov 24th, 2021 at 14:11. |

Might be worth just lifting the headlamps out , this may give you a little access to the back of these lamps to check connectors etc
