You need to find someone to guide you in how to search for a parasitic drain.
Even the parking lights/position lights left on inadvertantly will flaten the battery.
You need to have a battery on these cars which can hold a decent charge close to design tolerances because they have very many modules and electronic systems which are etreemly sensative to fluctuating voltage.
When I last bought a new one I got a police speck heavy duty model with high cranking capacity.

Hi, yes checked for drain, 20mA only, so pretty insignificant. New battery, up to original spec., doesn't self-discharge if disconnected. Must be something switching itself on and off intermittently. But what??

Just a final update. Left the side lights on for 1/2 hour whilst having a cup of tea in the car, it barely cranked over. Thought enough was enough and bought a new battery the next day. I can leave the car on the drive for more than two weeks and no starting problems.

No not yet- it remains an enigma. Have employed the best electronic brain around- (bloke down the road)- and he's baffled too. Perhaps eventually something will fail completely, I'll fix that and the drain will disappear as if by magic... glad you've sorted yours anyway. AG

Default 2013 Xc70 low battery warning

Hello all, first time on here and first timer Volvo xc70 owner. Just bought last August . I Love the car , (Dan) but after a long trip to Spain in Sept from Scotland and back ,I’m getting a low battery charge warning! Then the rear tail won’t open. I’ve got a dash cam ,fitted just before we left for Spain that runs 24/7 Could that be the problem , desperate for any advice. Hubby not car oriented at all .

rewire it to the back side of the cigarette lighter up front which is only on with the ignition, that's how I did mine

are you saying the rear tail gate not opening is a result of the low battery, and then when recharged again it works
