Hopeless ! I know it's not easy looking them up , but that's not the thing to say to a customer is it.

To be fair they were helpful and tried to find the kit for me (especially knowing that it had been mentioned on the forum), but all they could come up with was the actual connector. (I think).

He has ordered the connector, but we still have to check that its the correct one because there's no drawing of it.

It makes me wonder, how a garage would go on , or a Volvo specialist, or main dealer. Do they have access to something that I don't.

don't they use VIDA's part catalouge? or do they have something else

saying that maybe it's a bit awkward because it's a repair part, not something that was fitted at the factory

Its all in the vida parts catalogue which is much more detailed now than the old 2014D counterfeited ones you see.

It is the parts mans job to find it for you and he has access to volvo uk for help if he is not experienced enough to do it on his own .

Finally got the connector from Volvo and guess what, it's the repair kit you were talking about. Pity they don't supply a couple of crimps for the leads, but that's not really a problem.

£35 less £5 p&p.

A nice professional repair kit , make sure it is not strained when you put it back , the extra length of the repair wires should help !

I got 2 packets, one being the terminal housing, the other being the crimped leads.

When you push the pins in, the white rubber sleeving acts as quite a good restraint. I doubt it really needs any more support at the terminal. But the longer cable itself may require some support.

I've attached a photo of the labels.

I'll just add that as text as well because picture attachments can get lost to the mists of time

connector housing 8622454 / leads 30656691

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon. It wasn't the easy option of just being the connection after all.

Took it for 1/2 hour drive, all was well until I put my foot down to accelerate up a hill. The "ENGINE SERVICE REQUIRED URGENT" message came back on. I checked codes with the icarsoft, which came up with rail pressure too low.(not the ctrl valve this time).

Tried this 2 or 3 times on the same road, the ctrl valve fault came up once. I was monitoring the rail pressure and ctrl valve current at the time.

The fault can't be repeated just revving the engine past 2.5k, it appears to only happen whilst under load.

The question is, am I looking at a new ctrl valve, a new pump or the pressure sensor.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
