P00bd00
Hi Just to give an update on this I put the car into volvo.. they did a smoke test and a vacuum test.. found nothing.. They swapped the T-MAP sensor but no difference then they swapped the Turbo Control Boost valve no difference.. They then changed MAF sensor I was told this got rid of the P00BD00 code and was replaced by P029900..This cost me £400.. Volvo now saying it could be the Turbo and for a new one is £1800 or £800 just to have mine tested..
When I picked up the car the code P00BD00 came back.. any more ideas? |

Let them have the car and tell them you wont be paying for parts that were not faulty ... They have access to Volvo technical department help if they need guidance... Volvo will send a person down from the technical dept to help them if necessary.

So today I had another look at the car..
Went for a drive and the car accelerated like it should until a few miles down the road once it warmed up then engine system service required comes up on dash and car goes into limp mode.. Still getting the engine system service required on dash.. when I connected vida I had the following P00BD00 & P029900 codes.. again Ive checked the vaccum all ok, did another smoke test.. no leaks.. reset the codes and I left the vacuum gauge on and went for a run, the gauge was quite active and stayed quite high.. then as i got near 60mph the car went into limp mode, and then the vaccum was low but stable irrelevant at what speed and whilst engine idleing.. whilst the car was idleing I checked the vac tube to the Turbo boost control valve.. this was maxed out on gauge so enough vacuum.. again I checked the actuator with vacuum and that help vacuum no problem.. I put my OBD on and checked the data stream.. whilst the car was in limp mode.. I checked the maf readout this was low and data line is flatter this is the same with MAP and the EGR was now at 0% permanently.. untill I reset the car.. Im now at a loss.. what should i check next? |

I'd refer back to Clan's initial post and suggest a split pipe to the intercooler/intake system or a loose clamp.
I had this a long time ago I had a MAF error, engine system service required and no boost, I don't know the codes though. The codes could be cleared and it would drive fine for a while until I hit a certain bend on my drive, a split in a large intercooler hose was the cause. Perhaps the split grows under pressure so smoke isn't escaping during your test?
