It is the right car. I bought it off Ethan. He did lower it, but he's cut the springs. He told me that you did it, so that's nice of him. I'm thinking about getting lowering springs for it soonish. I'm currently doing the same with the speedo. Driving with waze open. It'll be a shame for it to not have a working speedo/odo.
Power steering is the same. Just after starting it's difficult to turn right but will turn left. I'll get under it at some point and lube it up as you said.

Did he? Nope I sold it standard but was going to add lowering springs but never got around to it.
He bought it as he needed a car for the winter to drive around it as his Beetle was off the road. Odd why he sold it after a few weeks.

On the U joint if you check the thread Laird mentions the fix for it. They are known for stiffening up due to lack of use.
