Thanks everyone.
I have already bought a Bosch S4 battery (non agm) for £99 as the car doesn't have SS. and is being delivered tomorrow hopefully! Now i have just got to work out how i am going to lift the old one out and the new one in as i have a bad shoulder! |

Hopefully you have a nice neighbour who is willing to offer a hand. Good luck.

Ok, battery has arrived and is ready to go!
One last q, the car is a 2012 model with the new sensus audio etc so do I need to find that radio code before I go ahead? I have got the original book pack with the Manuals etc but I can’t seem to find one/it |

I don’t think you’ll need a radio code, normal service should resume on completion of battery swap.

Well it appears i may have spoken too soon - sort of.
Had the battery warning come back up so after doing a bit of digging, it appears you need to reset the BMS and one way can be done on the battery itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul8QOfdn_94 I haven't actually been out in the car yet, but i did this reset, left ignition on with radio playing for around 10 mins (engine off), and that seems to have cleared it. So, i'll see what happens over the next few days |

I'd leave it a few weeks to see if the error goes, you need to drive the car and then lock it and leave if for 8-12 hours during which time the BMS system recalculates the state of charge of the battery. If this doesn't sort itself out then try the BMS reset. It may also be your new battery isn't fully charged... if you have a battery charger I would give is a slow 24 hour charge to saturate it. Remember to connect the -ve charger lead to the car chassis, rather than direct to the battery.

I did check the battery without the engine running when the warning came back again and it tested at 12.6V, which seems a bit low to me although i have found that is the minimum voltage for car batteries of all makes etc.
