Another year on the road for the V70, just a few advisories with one of them the usual control arm/wishbone bush - deteriorating but no serious movement detected - so looks like I'll be replacing the control arms when the weather turns warmer, the others were tyre valves that can get sorted when I have the wheels refurbished any time soon.

My '07 breezed through its biannual inspection.
One license plate lamp and matching the tire pressure is all I did beforehand.
My "warmer weather" duties will include front struts (they're grunting), T-belt + hardware and accessory belt and tensioner.

Default We bought another one.

My wife finding herself in need of a replacement for her terminally rusty Toyota, mentioned how much she liked the experience of using the XC70. So, after a bit of a hunt we found and bought this red one in N Wales today. It is a few weeks newer than my Ocean Race and drives beautifully. She’s well chuffed with the purchase, especially as I paid for it 🙂

On the ph2 , Inner and outer CV boots on offside, as prescribed by the MOT man. Not by me, but by my mobile mechanic.

If you remove the neck of the washer bottle you can get to the cover and bulb easily - use your right arm parallel to the slam panel and it becomes quite easy without having to remove the bumper.

Thumbs up

V70's MOT today, initial fail on Offside headlamp aim too low and Nearside headlamp aim too high.

Corrected by tester, Dan, after MOT and then passed - thanks Mick's MOTs - 26 Castle View Business Centre, Rochester ME1 1PB - 01634 827977.

I've been taking all the family cars there for years, an honest MOT with helpful advice, minor defects eg blown bulbs, headlamp aim etc. corrected without charge.

When other things are wrong and require repair, the labour charge isn't astonomic and the job is done properly and with the utmost care. They'll fit parts you supply, or source good quality pattern or indeed OEM parts if you specify them.

Thanks Mick's MOTs.
