Default 940 front end parts

Hi Everyone

I’m trying to rebuild a 940 estate and I’m after o/s/f inner wing and battery tray/below headlight section.
Google fails to bring anything up so I’m guessing it’s all obsolete?

Thanks for any help.

Ian

Have a look in the For Sale section for posts by 360beast (Luke) and have a chat with him. He often breaks a 940 or three so may have those panels. I know he is recereating battery trays and jacking points too.

I think you will be lucky to get anything used in good enough condition these days, but worth a look in some scrappers if you can find them.

The joint between the battery tray and inner wing is particularily suseptable with the spot welded joint with the battery holder built in the middle of 2 panels. My Battery holder (2mm thick steel) completely rusted away.

In the end I replaced the tray with a good one from my 97 spares car (which stopped driving around 2012). The holder was good and inner wing not too bad. The tray and inner wing needed minor repaires.

If you can get a new tray and battery holder from Luke I would do that or maybe find a fabricator that will make one, then maybe use a standard right angle section for the inner wing. I'm sure others would buy it, its a common problem.

At that its still a big job and you will probably need to patch the sides of the battery area too, particularily the outer corner of the inner wheel arch.

I have a wing, its holed with rust but could be repaired so its free (but I'm in N.Ireland). I also had a spare goodish wing, but rusted in the same area. I repaired it + professionall painted it off the car in preparation for the tray swap.

We can fabricate the inner wing area that spot welds to the battery tray as we have had to replace many so we have a template to make them.
