Default No interior radio aerial

Found an old single din pop out screen radio hidden in the shed other day, so had a go at putting it in to see if it actually worked. On removing the standard 605 radio I discovered that there is no normal aerial hole to push one into and whats more, no aerial ! There was what I thought was a lead to a disc changer or something and another unused similar lead. How did folk get around this when switching radio to a single din unit ? For some reason I cannot post up any pics

Is there perhaps a patch lead available from the likes of Halfords or an audio specialist? Failing that a wiring diagram available on the internet/in a Haynes manual to give a pointer as to what goes where? The actual aerial itself will I think be built either into the rear screen heater elements or[if a V40]possibly into one of the rear side windows.

S40 has a telescopic aerial mounted on the left rear quarter panel, V40 has a roof mounted aerial, if my memory is correct the aerial connection to the radio is a square type connector, you will need to buy an adapter to fit non Volvo radios.
