Volvo v40 t4 oil squirt on dipstick at redline
Hi guys, today I encountered a problem with my Volvo . I drove it a little hard. At a hard pull in first then in second, when to change in third I've seen that my throttle was stuck on full open press clutch. Stopped engine in about 5 seconds or so, while redline. I open boot, jiggle a bit the throttle and got free. When I have looked at dipstick, It was raised and some oil squirted. Is this "normal" or should i expect some big bills in future? Car is running good. I recently changed timming kit, oil. Filters, etc.
PS: is true, my dipstick rubber feels lose and the plastic bit jiggles a bit. Maybe I need another dipstick, But is normal tu build pressure on redline in the bottom of the engine? If I unscrew the top oil cap, it stays on there, feels like vacuum. This is first time when I have seen oil squirt on dipstick and is not first time when I drive it hard true, first time when I redline it like that.. Thanks for any advise Last edited by nutzu; Jun 16th, 2017 at 05:56. |

Today I did some measurements. Everything seems OK. Today I also enjoyed ita Lil bit as usual. With engine cold and warm at 100degrees, it has vacuum on dipstick and also on top oil cap. Oil on dipstick is 1mm under maximum limit. I did a short log on torque. Was a busy day and I did some short pulls.
