Default V40 fog and sidelights - intermittent fault

Hi there, I have a V reg V40 which has recently developed a strange fault. Sometimes (~75%) the sidelights do not work (rear and front) and when this is the case, the foglights don't work either (rear and front). The headlights work normally. I don't think it's a fuse problem as it's an intermittent fault. Don't really know where to start - Haynes manual not that useful (to me anyway!)

Could it be a loose connection, and if so, where would be a good place to start looking?

Can anyone help please - car is in for MoT in next couple of days and I'd like to get it sorted before if possible!
