Never had the problem with opening the boot by mistake but had the foot operation removed some time ago as it nearly hit my wife on the head when we were putting our boots on, not sure what they did but the boot opening by the fob still works.

They will have pulled the fuse. If you want it to work again you can install a manual switch to turn kick on and off.

Seems to be an occupational hazard - happens to me not infrequently if I forget to sit on the appropriate (i.e. driver's (RHD)) side of the car's boot floor (V90) when changing my boots and thus avoiding the foot sensor! Still find the convenience of being able to open the boot handsfree outweighs the need to take car to avoid these consequences.

A chap could be offended! But, yes, you may be right...and my pockets are sufficiently deep (deeper than my arms are long).

I generally have a handkerchief and small change in the same pocket. It's the standard fob with the buttons on the side.
